CAFLER x TOURTOIS, Dorignies Options

Hello everyone,

My apologies for not writing and speaking French. I will try and translate this as well.
My name is Jo-Anne Sunbeam and i come from the South Island of New Zealand. I am looking for the 13 children of Ignace CAFLER and his wife Catherine TOURTOIS. All i have to go on is that he was a Sugar Beet Manufacturer around the 1800 - 1810 era. I know he had two children, Edouard Eugene CAFLER born 1797/8 supposedly the youngest of 13 children. I have found a Theodore CAFLER marrying Louise REDE in 1838 who had the same parents and therefore was a brother.
Edouard CAFLER left France and when to Mauritius where he married Uranie DIORE in 1832. Her father was also a sugar planter in Mauritius. In 1834 they were in Hobart, Australia and they arrived in New Zealand around 1836 - 1838. Apart from a couple of visits back to France, Edouard Eugene CAFLER remained in New Zealand where he died in 1893.

I have found out a bit about Mon. CAFLER manufacturing sugar in the early 1820's from books online but nothing about the family per se. Please could someone help me find the births and records of this family.

Mon nom est le Rayon de soleil Jo-Anne et je viens de l'Île Sud de la Nouvelle-Zélande. Je cherche les 13 enfants d'Ignace CAFLER et de sa femme Catherine TOURTOIS. Tout je dois continuer est qu'il était un Fabricant de Betterave sucrière autour du 1800 - l'ère de 1810. Je sais qu'il avait deux enfants Edouard Eugene CAFLER nés 1797/8 par supposition le plus jeune de 13 enfants. J'ai trouvé un mariage de Theodore CAFLER Louise REDE en 1838 qui avait les mêmes parents et était donc un frère.
Edouard CAFLER a quitté la France et quand en Maurice où il s'est marié avec Uranie DIORE en 1832. Son père était aussi un planteur de sucre en Maurice. En 1834 ils étaient dans Hobart, l'Australie et ils sont arrivés en Nouvelle-Zélande 1836 - 1838. Sauf deux ou trois visites en arrière en France, Edouard Eugene CAFLER est resté en Nouvelle-Zélande où il est mort en 1893.

J'ai appris un peu lundi. CAFLER le sucre industriel au début des années 1820 des livres en ligne mais rien de la famille en soi. S'il vous plaît pourrait quelqu'un m'aider à trouver les naissances et les dossiers de cette famille.

Things are pretty grim here, the death toll keeps on rising and may exceed 350. About 268 people are unaccounted for. We only have a relatively small population (400,000) and this has devastated Canterbury. We have been living with earthquakes and aftershocks since last Sept 4th but this was huge. I live 50km north of Christchurch where there is relatively minor damage and so we have been able to help more by offering places to stay and clothing etc. The water shortage is hard on people. The sewerage systems are gone. Lots of people are shell shocked. Liquefaction is everywhere and major buildings have collapsed. There are teams from all over the world here now and the recovery of bodies goes on. They haven't found anyone alive since 3pm yesterday. Today there has been 30 aftershocks between 2.9 - 4.0 (on the Richter Scale) from 1448 hrs to 2125 hrs. I think the world is mad because we haven't looked after it!!. Living in California would be the same as you are on the Pacific Fault line as well. Not nice. Cheers for your thoughts - Life goes on and we help where we can. With thoughts Jo-Anne

Nous avons vécu avec des tremblements de terre et chocs depuis le 4 septembre dernier, mais celui-ci était énorme. J'habite à 50 kms de Christchurch ( epicentre) et nous avons relativement peu de dommanges aussi nous avons pu aider et offrir des refuges et des vétements. La pénurie d'eau est difficile pour les habitants. Le systeme d' égout est détruit. Beaucoup de gens souffrent du choc. Les immeubles les plus importants se sont effondrés. Il y a des équipes venues de partout dans le monde et on continue à retrouver les corps. Ils n'ont retrouvé personne de vivant depuis 3 h hier. Aujourd' hui nous avons eu 30 secousses entre 2,9 et 4,0 sur l'echelle Richter. Vivre en California est la même situation puisque vous êtes aussi sur la faille qui encercle le Pacifique. Merci pour vos pensées. La vie continue et nous aidons où nous pouvons.
