hello I am looking for information about my gt gt gt grandmother all I know is she was born 1798 there are two places of possible birth mentioned on Uk census Havre and St Omer . she married a soldier William Hinds/. Hines he was stationed in Northern France July 1816 to Sept 1818 and they than came to england? I don't know if De boer is the correct pronunciation as this seems to me not to be a French Surname? the story goes she was disowned by her family for marrying a Britsh soldier. Thankyou Peter Smith

Pierre,I clearly need more information as all that is available on the Internet came from Gareth and I.My hope was that other family members would come forward with more information about Amelia so I will try harder when I get home! as we will be travelling back via Calais I have booked a hotel in Aire for the night!regards Peter.
