Marie Sophie B Lecat married Hugh Tannahill Meehan in Q2 1891 at Woolwich, London. She is recorded in their household in 1891 as a governess.
My Greatgrandmother Germaine Yvonne Marie Lecat went to stay with her c.1902. Sophie was her aunt.
Germaine then travelled on to Dublin to work also as a governess for a family in Shankill, Co Dublin.

I would be interested in any information that you have on the Lecat family

Marie Sophie B LECAT a épousé Hugh TANNAHILL MEEHAN in Q2 (?) 1891 à Woolwich, Londres. Elle est enregistrée dans leur ménage en 1891 comme gouvernante.
Mon arrière grand-mère Germaine Yvonne Marie LECAT partit s'installer avec elle vers 1902. Sophie était sa tante.
Germaine partit ensuite à Dublin pour y travailler également comme gouvernante pour une famille à Shankill, comté de Dublin.

Je serais intéressé par toute information que vous avez sur la famille LECAT.

On the death certificate of Louis Hippolyte Cleophas LECAT in 1877, there was an interesting information: he lived 29 rue du pot d'étain (pewter pot st). I looked at the census of 1872, section 1 to 4, p 235, and found the family:
LECAT Louis, tailor, 48, born in Bazinghen
TRIQUET Eleonore, his wife, journeywoman, 48, born in Boulogne
LECAT Marie, daughter, ironer, 17
LECAT Adèle, daughter, seamstress, 15
LECAT Arthur, son, cooper's apprentice, 13
LECAT Octave, son, 12
LECAT Louise, daughter, 9
LECAT Rose, daughter, 7
LECAT Sophie, daughter, 4
All the children were born in Boulogne

The last child is probably Marie Sophie Blanche LECAT, born 14.4.1868, you were looking for.

the parents of Marie Sophie Blanche LECAT seem to be Louis Hippolyte Cleophas LECAT and Eleonore TRIQUET, Sophie is aged 4 in 1872, i.e. born ca 1868 in Boulogne. And indeed, one finds her birth on the online ten-year tables : she was born on april 14th, 1868.
According to the same tables :
• her parrents married on november 25th, 1847, in Boulogne.
• Éléonore TRIQUET was born on november 13th, 1823 in Boulogne


In order to climb up one more step, it is now necessary to get :
1) a copy of the marriage of Marie Sophie lECAT, just to ensure her parents, though they are probably right, and
2) a copy of the marriage LECAT x TRIQUET registered in Boulogne on 25/11/1847 (french time notation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ).




For my own edification, may you explain what means "Q2" in "Q2 1891 at Woolwich, London" ?

Summary lists in UK and Ireland are prepared on a quarterly basis. You have to go to the original document then to get the exact date.
