Yvette Hoitink , des Pays Bas est déjà intervenu sur ce forum. Elle a étudié les actes notariés concernant des habitants de Steenwerck et environs qui se sont exilés en Zelande. Sur son site:

on trouve un François SOHIER fils de François qui serait né à Steenwerck vers 1620.

Malgré les lacunes dans les actes de l'époque, je recherche la naissance de François SOHIER fils de François ou toute naissance d'un enfant de père François SOHIER

The "BOURGEOIS" middle class persons in the middle ages were the inhabitants of the village "BOURG".

They had privileges in their village and protect themselves from foreigners by grouping.

We were bourgeois by birth, by purchase or by marriage.

Every year it was necessary to pay a royalty to the village to preserve its bourgeoisie.

Easy people who besides had the propertie in the surrounding villages had also often a house in the close big city.

My question is also - in the messages 15 & 18 it includes :

What is the source for this please? I think it is BDY by F Bauwens [ 2003 ] . I think that is not an original source. How was the work of Bauwens put together? I think Roland said some [ ? on Sohier ] came from himself. Where did you get it please? Is there still a church record of the marriage.

I think Rik showed the marriage date as either 9 or 12 May 1621 or 5 September 1625!?
