Maurice Joseph Paul Messiaen MESSIAEN, né le 12 février 1893 dans Bavinchove [un enfant de Messiaen-Kerfyser] s'est marié avec Jeanne Anne Marie Declerck DECLERCK , née le 13 mars 1896 dans Wormhout [un enfant de Declerck-Rousseau]

Maurice et Jeanne apparemment avaient 7 enfants.

Here is my answer about Isaïe Tobie Jérémie MESSIAN.

As explained by Guy (message #2) Isaïe was killed during the First World War on September 5 1916 at Thiaumont, close to Verdun.
He was born at Wormhout on May 13 1894, son of MESSIAN Charles Henri Adolphe x VANYPER Lucie Anastasie. Parents get married on April 18 1892 Wormhout.
Unfortunately the correspondings records are not yet available in line.

Using Genealo website, we have access to a census performed during year 1906. This family was living at Wormhout:

As you can understand, VANYPER Lucie Anastasie get married a second time with DEQUIDT Amand Constant René on December 7 1903 Wormhout.
At this step there is no evidence of link with Brigitte's family.

Please let us know whether you are interested in working on the ascendance side. I feel that you focus on searching children of MESSIAEN x DECLERCK family.
Sorry to insist again, it is not possible to discuss this question on this forum since corresponding people are contemporary. Furthermore it's clear, we cannot have access to the corresponding registers. Just Brigitte is entitled to require her birth record (she has) and parents marriage if any with the only condition to know when and where.
Brigitte is also entitled to obtain marriage record for her grand parents MESSIAEN x DECLERCK, with the same condition: when and where.
To possibly solve this matter, as suggested by Myriam, you have to require birth certificate of Jeanne Marie DECLERCK and with a piece of chance date and locality of her marriage will be written in the margin. Unfortunately it is not the case for Maurice MESSIAEN. I found the birth certificate and the only comment is that Maurice was recognized and legitimated with his parents marriage.

A ce stade il n'y a pas de lien évident avec la famille de Brigitte.

Laissez nous savoir si vous êtes intéressé par des recherches sur l'ascendance. J'ai le sentiment que vous orientez vos recherches uniquement sur les enfants MESSIAEN x DECLERCK.
Désolé d'insister de nouveau, il n'est pas possible de discuter cette question sur le forum car les personnes correspondantes sont contemporaines. De plus il est clair que nous n'avons pas accès aux registres en questions. Seule Brigitte est en mesure d'obtenir son acte de naissance (elle l'a) ainsi que le mariage de ses parents s'il existe à condition de connaître la date et le lieu.
Brigitte peut également obtenir l'acte de mariage de ses grands parents MESSIAEN x DECLERCK avec les mêmes conditions de date et de lieu.
Pour tenter de résoudre ce point et comme suggéré par Myriam, vous devez réclamer l'acte de naissance de Jeanne Marie DECLERCK qui devrait avec un peu de chance contenir les coordonnées de son mariage en annotation marginale. Ce n'était malheuresement pas le cas pour Maurice MESSIAEN. J'ai trouvé son acte de naissance mais en marge on ne trouve que la mention précisant qu'il a été reconnu et légitimé au mariage de ses parents.

Hi Christian,

Thanks again for all the details with your latest email. The last couple of weeks I have been very busy to understand the searching possibilities in France, My own family tree has over 14,500 entries and as indicated to Messiaen family arm got started via the Australian National Archives and the digital access available these days. That were we found the first details on Brigitte's mother, when she arrived in Australia; how long she stayed and how she returned by ship to France via Southampton,England. I then found and paid for a french genealogist in Saint Etienne; and learned in due course about the archives Nord Pas de Calais; Genealo and also found many other connections via searches and matches via the MyHeritage search engine. As a resutlt I have in our family tree all the Messiaens, Declerck and Kerfyser ancêtres also from many of the brother's and sister's from the direct ancestors. I have all the relevant birth, marriage certificates attached to our tree inclusive the birth certificate from Brigite's mother.

The only missing items are the marriage certificate from Raymonde's parents Maurice Joseph Paul MESSIAEN (1893, Bavinchove)X Jeanne Anne Marie Cornelie DECLERCK (1896,Wormhoud) and whether they had more children then Raymonde Simone Yvonne MESSIAEN

So that's the reason I am concentrating on the above name group.

I obtained the birth certificate of Raymonde via our Genealogist in Saint Etienne and therefor it looks to me that Genealogist must have more right of access to documents in France then the general public and therefor I may have to ask him for further research which is quite costly however.

I like to thank you and all the other participants and GENNPdC in particular for all the assistance given and the time you have all spent to allow some one far away in Australia to delve into the genealogy of Nord Pas de Calais.
