I am new at this Forum. I hope this is the right topic.
I try this one, because i found the blason of Wavrin, a azur-blue l''ecu, the same as De la Fontaine et from Wicart, they have a Blue schield with bees.
On Dutch television was recently a Genealogyprogram about an ancestor of a dutch presentator/correspondent who lives in France, Philip Freriks. His grandmothers name is Wikart (Wicart). In line they found to Anna Christina Wicart, she had, notmarried, 16 children ! Her father was the famous painter Nicolas Wicart 1748-1815. I am intrieged by this story and as genalogist I will find more, is there a connection to the Walon Hugenots refugees?
My surching ends with Andries Wicart, he married in 1688 in Utrecht and in the document says he came from France. No further hints.
I think that there must be a relation with the family De la Fontaine dit Wicart, at least two brothers from Valenciennes came to Amsterdam ca 1600. The names are mentioned in this document http://huguenots.picards.free.fr/documents...ne_Trigault.pdf
Mr deVos past away, but Philippe Cattelain of that site gave me the suggestion to put here my questions.
There was the time that Walon Hugenots refugees ascape from France to England, Amerika, Afrika, and Netherland.
The name De la Fontaine dit Wicart is been "changed" in Netherland into Fontaine, Fonteyn, but also Wicart. Wicart is written in 29 different ways. The family in Amsterdam also use the names Andries, Francois, and Jean.
Andries Wicart married 18-10-1688 Utrecht with Annichje Wouters
